Coming from a former PC intern, I can’t emphasize enough HOW WOWED I am by the website! (It still feels very shiny and new every time I see it.) I particularly appreciate the coverage of the internment camps in a modern context that is accessible to many young JA readers (such as the history of former internees and affected neighbors, recent documentaries about the subject, etc.). It certainly keeps that legacy of JA history very much alive and urgent, especially in these uncertain times.
I’m just going to throw out some random hit / miss ideas that may or may not resonate with someone and set off a certain momentum. Who knows what can happen?
- I know the PC is a bi-monthly newspaper, and I am wondering if there is something that can be updated weekly that is exclusive for the web content? Example can be bloggers, APA cartoons, or even an APA-related photo of the week.
- A Pacific Citizen youtube advertisement?
- Now this is an extremely minor nit-picky detail, but every time I visit the website, by intuition I click on the title first before I realize that I have to click on the link that says “click here for full story.” I think making the top news stories titles linkable will help navigating just a little bit. Or maybe i’m just neurotic like that.
I’m excited for the future of PC. Many exciting and new things ahead!

I think online news is much more easily accessible, particularly for youth. If you utilize networking sites and other means by the Internet to promote the PC website, I think it’ll increase the number of readers.
Also, I actually just looked at the website for the first time now, and I think the layout looks very plain and not very appealing. Maybe if there were more color, better font, etc.
Yay keep it up, Megan!
